If you don't mind notetaking using markdown, Obsidian could be a great option, especially if you're into bi-directional linking. It's very close to what Evernote was, stores notes in html in a folder of your choosing so you can open up your notes without needing a note-taking software.

Notebooks is only semi-multi-platform (No Android) but it is the app I would have settled for if I hadn't gone the Devonthink (mac-only) route. It also has a web clipper though I haven't tested this feature. If you're not a power user UpNote could be a good option and it comes at an attractive price. That reduced my dependency on a cross-platform app. I also weaned myself off notetaking activities with the phone, and instead went for an ipad for notetaking on-the-go.

That way, I can easily open the files up on my Android phone if needed. Personally, I got real tired of testing multi-platform alternatives that didn't have the native features I needed, so I settled for a Mac-only option that doesn't use a propriety file format.
